Lara Wetlands to Brisbane.

 Monday 2/6/25.

We got away from camp about 9.15am which was pretty good as we had to fill up with water and do the loo. Despite the water being bore water, it tasted really nice and it didn’t have the sulphur smell.

We drove to Blackall and found a park to have morning tea and then on to Tambo for lunch. We continued on to Morven and drove out to Gidgee’s Bush Camp about 1.2 klms out of town.

It was a wonderful family run campground and everyone there were very friendly and full of information.

The campground is a work in progress but they are off to a good start.

This loo has a bit of a problem and is not in use!!!!

The camp kitchen.

The owner, Kylee is pretty good with the welder and her sculptures are dotted around the camp ground.

An amazing tree.

Tuesday 3/6/25.

This morning we took the following pics before leaving for Chinchilla to meet up with one of Barb’s cousins.

This is Kylee’s car that she decorated herself.

We had a lovely evening with Frances and she cooked us a roast beef and veggie dinner. We enjoyed sitting around the campfire for the last time.

Wednesday 4/6 25

We packed up for the final time and drove to Toowoomba to see Barb’s cousin Joan. We had lunch with her and then headed off for Brisbane about 1.45pm. When we got tp the Logan Motorway the traffic was crawling so we stopped at the truck stop for coffee. The traffic improved and we headed off again arriving home about 4.15 pm.

Ros, our house sitter was there to greet us with Heidi the dog  who was very excited to see us.

So there you are. We have come to the end of our trip. We drove approximately 14,000 klms and crossed a few things off our bucket list.

We hope you have enjoyed reading about our adventures. Until next time…….

Cheers from

Barb n Bob.
