Albany .

We arrived in Albany just after lunch and went straight to the information centre to get all the local information.
After doing some shopping and looking around the town we went to the caravan park out at Emu Point. It was really nice out there and we enjoyed walking along the fore shore later in the afternoon. The sea views were spectacular.
The next day we did some washing and then after lunch went to the National Anzac Centre. This is a memorial museum to the ANZACS particularly those who left for the war from Albany Harbour during the first world war. It was a really excellent museum and was built within the area of the Princess Royal Fortress. This was built in the late 1800s to deter France and Russia settling in the Western Australia.
Afterwards we went on a scenic drive to Natural Bridge and The Gap and saw amazing rock formations and views of the Southern Ocean.

You can see a platform sticking out over the edge of the cliff. Amazing engineering stops you ending up in the sea.
After a quick tidy up in the car park we then met Jamie and Deb Cook at an old pub, The Earl of Spencer, for dinner. Jamie has ridden his bike to Phillip Island with Bob and they have recently moved to Albany.
We had a great evening with them.
The next morning we had a final beach walk before heading off to Denmark.
