Paynesville to Murray Bridge via Riddells Creek.
Thursday- 3/4/25.
We left Paynesville on Monday and drove to Riddells Creek stopping in Sunbury to see Dick and Ella Prisgrove. Bob wanted to see a motor bike that Dick was doing up.
It was great to catch up with Ben and Paea, Lhasa and Tui again.
The next morning we headed west enroute to Nhill for our first nights stop. We stoped for lunch in St Arnauds, named after a Frenchman who had lived in the district. We ate our lunch in Queen Victoria’s Botanic Garden and then went for a stroll up the Main Street. There were some very interesting buildings which are mostly still used and well maintained.
We continued onto Nhill and found a spot in the caravan park.
The next morning we headed west on the western highway, stopping at Bordertown for morning tea. We arrived in Murray Bridge in time for lunch.
We stayed with Bob’s sister, Jan and her husband Malcolm for 4 nights. During our stay we caught up with Bob’s cousins, Ros and her husband Trevor, Colin, John and his wife Jan and also his Uncle Des who is over 90.
On Saturday we met up with one of Bob’s old school friends and her husband for lunch.
On Sunday we drove to Mt Barker to stay with Bob’s niece Ali and her husband Matt and their children Asher and Malia.
The next morning we had coffee with our friends Dib and Tom and then headed off to Adelaide.
