Kadina to Venus Bay SA.

 Monday 14/4/25.

We left Adelaide on Thursday10th and travelled to Kadina. We stayed at the Kadina Showgrounds and found the only spot with some shade nearby.

The next morning, after doing some shopping we visited our friend Viv Johnson who is in a nursing home in the town. We had a good visit and Viv was in fine form with his usual jokes!!! We also caught up with his daughter Kay who had come for a visit, which was great.

In the afternoon we headed off towards Port Augusta and then west on the Eyre Highway where we saw the first signposts saying Perth!! We stopped at Nutbush which is a station stay on Pandurra station. We had stayed here on a previous trip and knew it was a good place. It is only 40klms out of Port Augusta.

The next morning Bob woke up and knew straight away he had a chest infection. He had been having an asthma flare up in the previous few days. So we packed up quickly and went back to the Port Augusta Hospital and went to emergency. There were only 2 other patients waiting and we were in an out of there in just over an hour. Unbelievable in a public hospital. Then we went to the chemist to get the script made up and that took longer.

We got away from Port Augusta Hospital about 12.00 and drove to Kimba where we had a lunch stop. We drove onto Venus bay where we had a booking for 3 nights. Bob had 2 cousins staying here so he wanted to catch up with them.  Bob is now a lot better thank goodness.

Venus Bay is very peaceful place with most people here for the fishing. The weather has been very hot which is quite unseasonal.
