Adelaide

 Tuesday 7/4/25

On our arrival in Adelaide we went straight to a health appointment for Bob which took about an hour. Then we met Liz Huxley, a family friend of Barb’s from Mudgee that she grew up with. We had lunch together at Pasta Deli on the Parade in Norwood.

After lunch we drove to the DFO (called Harbour Town) near Adelaide Airport and Bob managed to get a new pair of jeans.

Then we checked into the West Beach Caravan Park but didn’t set up as we were due at Ron and Marilyn Smith’s for dinner. This proved to be a very pleasant evening catching up on news and reliving old times.

We got back to the Caravan Park about 9.00pm.

The next day we took the bus to Glenelg and got ourselves a flu shot. On our return we had a long walk on the beach. They are bringing back sand to replace sand washed away.

We were meant to leave Adelaide today but a parcel of supplements has not arrived for Bob. We are hoping they will arrive tomorrow. If they don’t arrive we will have to get them forwarded on and will pick them up in Perth or somewhere along the way.

So to fill in the day we drove to Moculta near Nuriootpa to see Bob’s cousin Karen and her husband Neil. It was pretty cool up there but we returned to sunny conditions with no wind which was nice.

On our return the we found the caravan park almost fully booked as the AFL Gather round is on this weekend. People near us had come across from Esperance.

The West Beach Caravan Park is a good location for going to places in Adelaide and Glenelg.. We go there because Glenelg is Bob’s old stamping area from when he was a kid.

Otherwise why would you choose a Caravan Park next to a capital city airport with the strong smell of av gas for a holiday. !!

By the way the supplements didn’t arrive so we are going to get a friend to forward them on.

We leave tomorrow for Kadina.
